The Fishin' Frenzy is a 53-foot Custom Carolina Sportfisher with a 16-foot beam. She was built in 1977 by Captain Billy Holton. The Carolina hull design powered by a 1100 hp Caterpillar diesel enables her to comfortably cruise at 25 knots. The Fishin' Frenzy has been expertly maintained and refitted to give our customers the safest, most comfortable offshore fishing experience possible.

Our salon is designed for the comfort of our guests. An onboard generator provides the power for heat and air conditioning, a microwave and outlets located throughout the salon. We keep our salon at a comfortable temperature year round, and even our head (rest room) is air-conditioned. A sound system complete with cd player and Sirius satellite radio is also available.

In our spacious cockpit, three teak fighting chairs are ready to comfortably help you tackle any battle we may encounter. We take pride in caring for you catch, and our insulated ice storage and fish boxes are the ticket for bringing back the finest quality fish in the fleet.

Here at Custom Sound Charters on North Carolina's Outer Banks we offer a variety of trips that are not offered by any other charter service on the OBX.

While our home port is Cape Hatteras, we fish from Oriental NC for Red Drum to the waters of the Chesapeake Bay for big Striped Bass.

The Waterman and Inlet trips which involves pulling a net for shrimp and crabs combined with light tackle rod & reel fishing in the calm backwaters of the sounds are excellent family adventures.

During the summer and fall we'll take you bottom fishing for Groupers, Tilefish, Triggerfish and Seabass and spend part of the time trolling for King mackerel, Wahoo and Dolphin.

Warning: This is not a glorified boat ride where catching fish comes secondary to making money off of tourists. This is a year round full time operation. The goal is for you to catch fish and I will bust my tail to do that. Specializing in light tackle live bait and casting trips for first time fishermen to the fish-a-holics.

Half, Three-Quarter and Full Day trips are available for 1 to 4 people out of two 22 foot center console boats. One with a tower and upper station for site-casting to ocean fish. The other, without a tower for fishing the bridges of the outer banks sounds. Tower boat is docked at: Teach’s Lair Marina during the April and May for targeting Red Drum & Cobia. The Oregon Inlet fishing Center the rest of the year(June-March) for both ocean and sound side species. The boat without the tower is on the trailer and available for: Spring Striper fishing in the Albemarle Sound(Edenton) and Oregon Inlet area Bluefish/Speckled Trout/Flounder/Striped Bass trips. Fall Striper fishing along the many bridges of the many outer banks sounds. We leave out of the public boat ramp closest to the fish and furthest from the wind. If necessary, the boat on the trailer can be drug to Rudee Inlet for big wintertime ocean Stripers.
